But wait...Did the city already say sorry?

Ok So what has changed since then? What impact did this event 20 years ago actually have in the city. A few more questions:

1) was the Apology debate last week really about apology, or about proper acknowledgement in the city?

2) if the city said 'sorry', there is no doubt that those who said it had any sincerity about it, but what came out of that to address the depths of impact on Bristol as an city, and the nature of racism, abused African self-concept that resulted?

3) why does some of the reporting of last week's debate not make the distinction between what people feel was a need for the working class people of Bristol to say sorry, or for the city's institutions to apologise?
