When to commemorate - 2006/07/20 15:12 The date for a National Remembrance day for the victims of the TransAtlantic slave trade or Maafa seems to have erupted following an MP's bill.

-Dawn Butler MP

This is the issue of whose perspective. Sure enough British history can take its own marking points about what is important, but surely this needs further consideration given the subject.

Just cause a few black faces have put their names to the bill and one say they have 'consulted' don't make it acceptable. The DEBATE HAS NOT EVEN BEEN HAD.!!!

Where do we have such debates in mainstream arenas anyways? Cos true say the arguments have not been put for an alternative. I was not consulted anyhow. Were you?
